Dr. Spica assists in litigation involving individuals with psychological or neurological conditions. He has participated in civil and criminal proceedings in district (Tennessee and Michigan) and federal court involving personal injury, a range of criminal charges, and capital sentencing/mitigation. Dr. Spica is also available as an expert witness in cases to determine cognitive impairment due to chemical and toxin exposure, such as exposure to the Nalco Company’s dispersants Corexit 9500 and Corexit 9527, and to Louisiana Sweet Crude Oil.

Dr. Spica frequently performs independent examinations for third parties, such as plaintiff or defense attorneys, insuring institutions or employers to assess an individual's neurobehavioral status. The examination report is issued to the client within 7 days after clinical data is collected (including pertinent medical records). Dr. Spica utilizes professionally conventional and comprehensive methods of examination including modern measures of symptoms validity, effort and motivation.
